Sleeping Beauty

I felt like I could hardly keep myself from smiling during this little one’s session. Meet Miss Maya……a true sleeping beauty……….gorgeous head of hair and perfect little baby skin!! Maya was game for everything……..we put her in baskets, on blankets, on chairs…..you name it…….we did it…………and……well…………she just slept! It was a dream session! Her parents drove a couple hours to see me (thank you!!) because that session made my week!

So……..here she is………Miss Maya……….a true sleeping beauty!!

Sunshiney day………

I have totally lucked out lately with the weather here in Nebraska. We definitely have had our fair share of dreary, rainy days, but I have lucked out and had a lot of my sessions on beautiful, sunshiney days like the ones below.

These two little gals are just the cutest things ever! I grew up babysitting their mom, so it is so cool getting to see her again “all grown up” and with little ones of her own. Meet Lucy and her little sis, Norah……….adorable, eh!?

Gorgeous family……

As summer draws to an end (officially today!), I am starting to enjoy our fall-like weather more and more!! This day was the perfect day for photos as the wind was non-existant and the lighting was beautiful. Top that off with a gorgeous family and it’s a photographer’s dream!! Another sweet ‘lil one…..with a funny twist of a story!

Meet Miss Mia. Her momma (Ashley) found me from another client spreading the word and so as the session started…..we began to chit-chat about that connection. We talked about North Platte, NE (her hometown and the hometown of the my other clients who referred her to me). One thing led to another in our conversation and eventually she tells me that her dad is from Sargent, Nebraska. HUH?! I then mentioned that I grew up in Sargent (which is a very small town located in central Nebraska…for you non-Nebraskans!!) and that up until a couple of years ago….my grandparents lived east of Sargent by the community golf course. She then tells me that her grandpa owned a pond right by that golf course. HUH? I then said…..”Uncle Glenn?”…..and she replied, “Well, Grandpa Glenn…..” At this point we are both in disbelief about how small this world we live in is!! We have the same maiden name too! To sum it up for all of you……our grandpas are brothers!!! My dad and her dad are first cousins and grew up together in Sargent, Nebraska. We just laughed at the craziness of the situation and then tried to figure out what we were as far as relatives…….2nd cousins??? 3rd cousins??? We’re still not really sure, but know that we are related!!

So………introducing the newest member to the family…..distant as it may be……….MISS MIA!!
