Funky Christmas

This year I have been re-doing my office space with the help of my dad.  He made me some built in shelves that I just love. I decided to paint my office a burnt orange color and it turned out beautiful. (Even though my husband says it reminds him of the dreaded “Hook ‘Em Horns Texas” burnt orange.  That is how a guy’s brain works, I guess.

With my newly finished office space, I decided to put up two full size trees this year because my office has a really nice bay window that faces the street. A perfect spot for a tree! I got a little “funky” with it and decided to coordinate it with my paint……..SO orange, black and white it is!

I just love how it turned out! Here’s a peek!

An uncommon occurance…..

I think it is quite common that photographers sadly are never actually “IN” any photos. I want to make an effort for my kids’ sake to be in more photos…………NOT that I like to do it, but I think it is something that they will cherish in the future. When we ventured out to Jen’s place last week, I told the kids that they might be in a couple pics and I had decided at that point that I wanted a nice photo of me and the kids. Most shots are so candid and not planned out if I happen to be in them because we are on vacation or something. (which is fine too) So…..I set up my camera for Jen and she took this shot of Luca, Jack and I. I really love it! Thanks, Jen!!

Photo session + play date = FUN!!

I headed to Blair, NE last week to do a long overdue photo session with my best friend’s  three boys. What a great time! We tromped through the woods on their property and turned their beautiful fall grasses into a beautiful backdrop for the photo session. Duncan , Jesse, and Hudson were a blast and we had so much fun making up silly words to make everybody laugh. We then let the kids play for a while and followed it up with a game of Apples to Apples and pizza. What a great day! The following photo is one of my favs from the session!! It will look great on the canvas Jenny ordered!! Can’t wait to see it in person!
